This village is near the Badrinath temple and there is a story of the Mahabharata that at the end of their life Pandavas were walking towards heaven and reached Badrinath. On their way there was a Saraswathi river which was gushing out from Himalayas so in order to cross it, Bheem lifted a huge rock and created a bridge which is now called as Bheem pul.

There is also a Vyas gufa, a small cave in the Himalayan mountain where Maharshi Vyasa had composed the Mahabharata and 18 Puranas. There is also a Ganesh gufa where lord Ganesh had written  the Mahabharata directed by Maharshi Vyas.
